It's kind of a purist motive I know not easily understood by those who are primarily financially motivated wink. Processors and their systems are interesting enough to be worth understanding and appreciating in their own right don't you think ?

Sort of like cheerleading for a sports team. You'll deny it, but I know you get some kind of gratification every time AMD "wins" something, whether it be a benchmark, or a supercomputer design win, or simply a PR victory. Otherwise, you wouldn't be posting so jubilantly when AMD is "winning" these minor victories, while losing so dearly on their financials. It's not an enigma. It's just sports frenzy, and the sport is Processor Vendor Wars.
