Sparton Acquires Comprehensive Technical Data For Luxi Gold Belt Yunnan Province, China

TORONTO, ONTARIO--Sparton Resources Inc. (SRI-TSX Venture)(the "Company") today announced that it has acquired a comprehensive information database (The "Database") related to past exploration in the Luxi Gold Belt in south western Yunnan Province where the Company has entered into a Joint Venture Agreement to undertake a comprehensive exploration program beginning this year (see news release of December 19, 2003). This valuable information, in both digital and hard copy formats, relates to exploration work conducted during the period from 1994 to1998. It consists of raw data as well as a compilation of results for regional and detailed geochemical and geological surveys, geophysics, and very limited drilling. In consideration for the Database, the Company will issue 100,000 common shares to C. N. Forster, the Database owner.

The information will provide the Company with the framework for organizing the upcoming exploration program, including relocating all the untested targets in the 134 square km area of interest and detailed exploration in areas not covered by the previous work.
