There is no way I know of to get the audio alert you want, but you may be able to come close to what you want two other ways.
There is a "Board Refresh" setting in Tools, My Settings that will let you set the board refresh rate to as little as 60 seconds. By setting it at 60 seconds, you will be able to see (but not hear) new posts on the IBox board (boards main page) every 60 seconds. Using this would allow you to click on just those new posts you want to see without having to scroll through a bunch of posts.
The other way is to keep the Favorites showing and refreshing (Tools, My Settings, Auto Refresh=True, and Rate 15, or 30, or 60 (or more) seconds) and see when that person has new posts in the counter. Using this would allow you only view the new posts for the person you want to read.
