According to OA, naked shorting is not a big problem. Only truly bad, scamming companies get shorted... and MM's can't short.

And he worked for a hedge fund for years. I guess you just get used to telling yourself these things when you're involved to keep a moral conscience, much like how Gollum got his ring.
