Todays Topic: Anatomy of "Top 100 Watches.." fluff PR

Ok, this one really made me laugh. Here goes.

WTVI, Sept. 26, 2007 fluff PR headline reads:

"Top 100 Watches of 2007 to Be Named by WatchWi-FiTV.com..."

WHOW, were does he get that information? Wait a minute I bet it's from the world renown "Wristwatch Annual 2007" (Wristwatch Annual). It's published annually. Topics include top watches and manufacturers for said year. Oh NO, that must mean they have already been named? But, I thought Alex was going to have another first? Cuz that's the way his fluff PR reads. And, if you ask him, he will tell you about his many FIRSTS!

Then the fluff PR sub-headline reads:

"Awards Are Part of 24/7 Programming Exclusive to New Wi-Fi TV Social Internet TV Platform".

WHOW again! How does he do it! "awards" are being given out by WI-FITV for these timepieces. Wait a minute! That sentence stands alone. It must mean he PLANS on having timepiece award shows. Cuz, if he were truly hosting or producing an award show for said "launch", he would have a name for it, a scheduled time, the production company, the sponsors, the location etc etc.

BUT HE DOESN"T.

In FACT, Alex just contiues the fuff PR with his typical name dropping and quoting of world market prices. (this time it's 1.6 BIL for watches). Oh, and of course, his disclaimer is strategically masked as a feeling:

"Wi-Fi TV feels a global Internet audience with high discretionary income awaits the arrival of the first Internet TV station devoted to watches."

Does that mean my hard earned money which bought WTVI stock that's being used to travel all over the world and expand the vision of this "internet guru" is/has always been based on a "feeling"?

BTW people, ask yourself, who owns the watch station? Who's manning the helm of this flagship? Better yet, ask Alex or Colby? Then check into it in about 6 months and see what has changed??????????????????????????????????
