I disagree. They have been saying the end of oil was near since the 80s. Back then, they even thought the oil supply was only going to last only 30 years.

Alternative energy is very expensive. 3rd world countries have energy needs and they need them cheap. In addition, you just can't change all the airplanes, military vehicles, heavy trucks, and construction equipment over to alternative overnight. That's going to take 20+ years.

In addition, oil is going to continue to be in demand from China and India with their exploding population and infrastructure needs.
