Prescott launch - reality check

Let´s take a look at the situation after the launch:

P4C 3.4Ghz is widely available.

P4EE 3.4Ghz is a pure paper launch.

P4E 3.4Ghz is a pure paper launch.

Mass shipments of P4E 2.8 - 3.2 Ghz have been delayed.

These are the facts, and let´s face it, this has to be one of the worst launches for a new core from INTEL in recent years (and I´m only talking about availability here, since as I said, I´ll reserve judgement about the other factors until the launch of the 3.6 Ghz model on LGA775, for reasons that will become clear only then). The whole thing was a smokescreen, nothing else. I doubt it did INTEL any good, which is of course great news for AMD, although I´d only expect minimal impact here. I hope things will continue for INTEL in this manner. But I don´t believe it. We´ve surely seen the worst from INTEL for this year. To be continued...
