Merger is a tricky subject.

Granted, you could wind up with another company's stock (a good thing if it's a better company) but they'd almost certainly trade you fewer shares, say 1 of theirs for ever 10 of yours.

Depending on the price of the other company's stock, you'd wind up with not a whole lot more stock, but perhaps a better one.
