Read some posts in the info link in the IBOX here. Several old posts about DMI/ADX.

I call the indicator DMI, not ADX, because the ADX "average directional movement" is based on the actual "Directional movement". But the dance they do gives me, most all I need to know about entry/exit points, while swing trading.

IMO other indicators only confirm retail mindset, before & after entry or exit, for me.

The thing I use ADX for, is confirmation of a change in direction and the strength of the expected move, by the positon it is on the graph. Above 50 or below 12, says strong move! Between , average size move. When ADX turns up with top indicator, the move is confirmed. Negative or positve.

Cross points are the most reliable indications, of change!
