Shorts might want to keep an eye on SEC

"Luparello said that, unlike a parallel SEC initiative to tighten short selling rules on the small-cap markets, the new NASD rules did not originate from worries over mounting failures to deliver stock into the national clearing system. But Luparello said the amended NASD rule fits nicely with the new short selling regulations now under consideration by the SEC."

Anyone seen an article about what moves are being considered by the SEC? The article I pulled this from is about the end of naked short selling on BB issues which has a Feb 20. deadline.
If we get a sizable pullback in the market it now looks obvious the SEC will go after the shorts.

I would say the market is well protected until November.
