First thing you can deduce from a stock showing up on the SHO list is things are not what you think they are. Most of the time the company is doing a funding and the transfer agent is not kept informed as to the actual shares on the street.Oh, I forgot the company usually has not kept the share count on their website up to date. This along with no PR or News Letter stating there are shares being sold to raise the company money. Why you ask? Because they want to keep it a secret so you think the shares you purchase at "a deal" are a great investment. They would never want to let you know the shares on sale are worth less than what you think they are.
