I hate to be critical about an otherwise informative article but it makes it sound as though Intel's purpose is to destroy AMD. The tone is AMD centric as though Intel management stays up at night plotting against AMD.

Intel Corp. is taking the gloves off and preparing a three-pronged attack against its microprocessor archrival — Advanced Micro Devices Inc...

The products are aimed directly at AMD...

This puts "AMD at an enormous cost disadvantage heading into Q2..

In fact Intel's goal is to improve profitability and enhance shareholder value. It is not intended as an assault on AMD.
