Dad... yes they are, they are locked in a gravational dance of death..... Andromeda is moving toward us at a pretty good clip...the closer it gets the faster it will move... the educated guess at this point is about 2 million years.
I have seen couputer models of just how it will happen, glad i won't be here, all other Galaxies are moving away from us, only Andromeda is coming at us.
My real interest lies in Cosmology and Quantum Mechanics, a little esoteric for most but fasinating
