I also would not underestmate the value of AMD's engineering alliance with IBM.

This time, indeed, it IS different.

I submit that not owning AMD here is patently stupid. AMD's recent market moves reflect relative fluctuations in market perceptions of small deltas in its valuation, but about a baseline that is completely erroneous. I submit that AMD common is so undervalued that it will some day be viewed as one of the classic market inefficiencies of all time. Watch it over the next two to three years. It will probably take at least that long to work itself out. I will not mind, however, if it takes much less time :)
