Srsnetworker: DENTAL CAMs have been around for quite some time. The difference here is DentalView has a far more marketable price, the "new" infrared ability and, I will assume, a wireless wand. I looked at the picture on SEVU's website, and it appears that the intra-oral camera itself is not on there yet. I will assume that the wand will be entirely separate using the IRF technology. The cord present now looks like an on/off switch for the TV, possibly to keep it near our operatory carts. Regarding universal precautions, or "sterilizing/disinfecting", there shouldn't be any concern here. Techniques of various forms have been around quite awhile for equipment such as this. For egs. clear plastic disposable shields...and that is just one. Without one iota of hesitation, I can tell you that these cameras would sell beautifully due to the reduced price, and the fact that you don't have to have a computer attached. Many in the profession won't spend the dough to put a computer with fiber-optic ability in every room, and they are too cumbersome and time-consuming to haul from operatory to operatory. This one looks lightweight and simple to move. I would actually like to sell these things!! SheTrade
