But ya know, that's how it's always been done - the toxic corp uses warrants and/or short sales to drive the price down so they can convert $ from the loan into free-trading shares at a cheaper price.

I guess I thought it was common knowledge.

I'm no legal expert - is this even illegal?

Good stocks are obvious. Extensive DD is how you convince yourself to buy a bad one.
