LJ - I talked to a client from a farm family who has been buying acreage near his home. Good, black dirt in central Illinois is still going up. So much land was eaten by housing in the Chicago area, that they are coming down here to buy. Most of the farmland around here has been owned by families for generations and they are holding the best ground from developers. They will be buying when the newbies get washed out.

The developers are another story. Most of what they are buying here is not good flat farmland. I can tell you that in the last month, I have noticed a lot of equipment pulled off new subdivision sites.
