However, I don't see this as a "red flag" more like GREEN. You say "they are no more than a company you hire to deliver the magazines to the locations they deliver to, nothing more"

Then why don't they just use the post office or UPS? I guess its because the post office can't get the prime shelf space that Time Warner can and position the magazine in for optimal sales.

To me Steve made a great decision to enlist Time Warner for the mags distribution. Of course Salon has to pay for this service/sales. Also, do you really think Time Warner will distribute just anything?
