Anyone here trade Rydex intra day?
<<<<<<<<<<<

You mean at 10.30AM?

It's more difficult to do than at the end of the day for 2 reasons:
1) You have incomplete information of what happened that day. (duh!)
2) (most important) The lag between the time you make the decision (10:30AM) and the time the trade is valued (10:45AM) is just too long. IT can move quite a bit in those 15 minutes making your trade go the other way.

That said this is the way I sometimes trade it:

a) If for any reason I was not able to reverse the previous day at 4PM, AND the trade today is going in my favor I might reverse at 10:30AM. (Depending if I think that the conditions of the market didn't change)

b) If at 10:30AM I have a gain of at least 1% and I think that the market might reverse I go to cash with 50% of the position. (Never reverse position)

(As you can see the key factor here is that for trading at 10:30AM I require that the trade be going in my favor. If I'm behind I don't move because I risk losing double if the market reverses)

Mostly anyway I only trade at the end of the day.

Hope this helps,

H.
