it needs to settle. Call your broker they will tell you the same thing> I didn't know about this either until i read some things on the board. Then i called schwab and confirmed it. They were right! They said if there is an illegal position it may take longer to round up the shares and see who's getting what, who owes what, etc. W/o illegals it takes about 24 hours, with illegals it can take up to two weeks.
