HP's strategy is consistent and easy to understand. They are trying to maximise sales of PCs and minimise costs. Their PC division has no interest in creating an interoperable network, at least for the moment. A few years ago they said they'd do the work on the infrastructure when the time is right. Meantime, they are just trying to harden their own branded services and building further value into the HP brand.

Sales are up. They are doing well. Great result. Whereas Wave's attempt to preempt the market is performing miserably.

Anyone can see that Wave has gigantic ambitions. And doubtless HP is also turned off by this. No one in the PC space wants to create a new MS-type monopoly.

You've been watching Wave too long. Not every company is thinking about the market from the same perspective! wink

We can hope. But we also must recognise there remain a hundred reasons for obstruction, some philosophical, some commercial, some practical etc.
