Some comments (long) ...

... Some of you have stated that the company should sell its own product, not the shareholders. Okay, consider this. Here we have a relatively new company, incorporated in 2004, whose expenses dwarf sales revenue. How, pray tell, are they going to hire a sales team when they don't have the money to do so? Strictly commission? Would you go to work on a commission-only basis for a company that hasn't made very many sales to date?

Let's be realistic.

A company in this situation is not going to be able to hire the best people, and might even have difficulty hiring competent people.

It is true that there are many people involved in business ventures who are technically sharp but who don't have a head for business. I have owned stock in Kopin (KOPN) for the past 6 years. A few years ago an MBA student evaluated the company for a class project and concluded that the company should be run by people with better business skills, experience, and expertise. The company is still run by the same people -- M.I.T. folks -- and the company isn't making practically any money and the stock price is going nowhere.

I can relate to that from my personal experience because 25 years ago I helped start a software company, going in business with a grad school classmate (we shared an office for two years). He had programming skills but absolutely no aptitude for business. Didn't want to take risks or spend money to promote our product. Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to yout door, right? Wrong, the world doesn't work that way. So I eventually gave up in disgust.

Collectively, those of us who are regular contributors to this board undoubtedly have far greater experience and skills than any very small company will possess. And we are highly motivated because we have thousands of dollars invested in the company.

I don't know anything about the competence of the people who work for the company other than what I read and I don't know if that can be relied upon. We have a lot at stake so let's see what we can accomplish.
