Here in miami it is big business their are quite a few querries in west miami. I used to feel the building shake last year at my job from when they were doing all that blasting. From what I have read the limestone in miami is supposed to be the highest quality limestone in florida and it use for cement to build all these highways, by ways, and houses.

Also, like you were saying about the lakes, the querries arent to far from lake Okeechobee and a buddy of mine tried to go canoing in the lake about a month ago and couldn't. Right now its 4ft shallower than last year this time. If the limestone mining affects the water supply, they def don't care here in dade county.
