Basically, they are borrowing to stay in business. They increased the O/S to purchase all of the businesses and shells they acquired. Instead of borrowing from banks, they borrowed from the A/S. Really, the same thing, but looks different on the balance sheet. Either way, they didn't finance the acquisitions from revenues generated by operations.
