Couldn't agree more Bill. I always feel more confident when
people who's opinions that I, and many other's, respect is
saying what I'm thinking.
I've felt like I had ants in my pants, RED ONES, ever
since SCHW gave out that one time divie this month...
that and the stock buy back they're having, it was
very painful letting that brokerage go at a small loss when
the fudies are FINE but all ships go DOWN too...
THEN watching it go up and down on Friday REALLY had
me squirming and I was so flustered to see it GO UP that I just
felt like I was at the end of time itself and HELL WAS
BECKONING !!!!
BUT...for the first time since I started trading I caught myself
being MAD and ANGRY and it was mostly being driven by
FEAR. ALL of these things...ARE BAD for portfolios...
VERY BAD !
VERY _VERY_ BAD !!!
BUT, I just couldn't sit on my hands...I had to...
_______KILL SOMETHING_______!
Just as I had done to SCHW moments before...SUDDENLY
realizing that I may have REALLY messed up with SCWW.
IF it went down m0re...I was ok.
If it went UP then I had just made ONE mistake...why let
my emotions cause another ?
BUT...I still had this overwhelming desire to draw BLOOD
sOme where..so I did sumpin I shOUld have done a long time
ago...I unsheathed my mighty sword and begain to slaughter
every single little worthless pink sheet POC that I have ever
owned...
of which there were many.
You know the ones, you go to bed owning Chinese OIL and
wake up a GUN TRADING DIAMOND DEALER in what used
to be....BURMA ! The ones that have R/Sed so many times to
turn a profit they would have to trade at $4,000 per share !!!
I rode through them like the Silver Knight...(My very favorite
one, and the last one to go down in a molten lump of flaming
glue, splattered in a hail of BB Gun fire...but...I digress...)
ANYTHING with red on it fell like so much wheat before the syth…
slowly but surely all the RED on my performance page
began to shrink and, oddly enough, I was actually beginning
to FEEL a LOT better !!! Self delusional…SURE...at best…
but that’s why all of the losers were still there to begin with.
They were constant reminders of past failures, meant to be
sobering reminders of the past…a fare and valid enough
reason to exist…in HAPPIER TIMES.
Friday was NOT a…HAPPY TIME !
BEFORE I KNEW IT…I had control over my emotions. The
greener my performance page got the more the anger just flowed
out of me and when I realized all that had REALLY gone
wrong for me that day was actually a pretty good deal for me….
I was OUT of a BROKERAGE STOCK...some place I should have been
the day after they paid that dividend.
I was MUCH closer to the percentage of cash that I’d like to be holding now!
I don’t have to LOOK at those UGLY PINK LOSERS........
ANYMORE !
I STILL have all of the SOUND positions that WOULD have
fallen to the FEAR AND ANGER NOT so long ago....mostly.
(I dumped ARRS and it's hurting really bad...begging for a
dip and not seeing one coming is only salt in the open gash
of a wound)
STILL it's better having MORE cash than...less...right now.
AND, I no longer feel like I have ants in my pants.
We have been running on the global enconomy for some time
now and that train is runnin out of steam…all those central
banks pouring money on the fire is only like that foam you put in your flat tires...they get ya a little further down
the road, but they don't fix your problems....inflation WILL
take it's toll on ANY market no matter HOW many slaves China and Burma have...put together.
In what is proving to be YET another first for me…
I can almost FEEL the cycle turning.

PS…I only hope I can continue to “learn” in a downtrending
market place and not end up in the poor house. I have some
VERY serious fears about the coming of the Commiecrate Queen..
