MA left himself a way out - reread the 8-K. He said either party could terminate the merger if the other didn't hold up their end of the bargain.
In fact, I believe that WAS the plan all along. MA knew Rufus didn't have the bonds in the amount he claimed. The whole thing was just a six-month pump, one big "score" for the gipper. And now it's over, it ain't coming back. In a few years MA will return with some new deal, and Rufus will find a way back into the markets as well.
Good stocks are obvious. Extensive DD is how you convince yourself to buy a bad one.
