Artec, You and I are going through the exact same thing.
Do you keep getting popup windows from Norton?
If so, click on one of the links in the window and set it for Automatic.
The popups will stop.

Also, XP has it's own firewall.
If you're using both it might help to disable one of them
FWIW, I hate firewalls, but they look like a necessary evil with XP.
And, that damn blaster virus nails you almost as soon as you go online.
Not to mention that XP gobbles up about 60% of memory

I'm not sure what the benefits are either.
All these tech wizzes say it's great, but that's the same thing they said about Win 2000
I'm on the verge of wiping my HD again and going back to 98SE
