Example..the 1 MM on the ask really has 10 million shares to sell, but only shows 5000 the 4 MM's on the bid all only want 5000 shares each. so looks like 4 times the demand.. but in reality.. Demand is 20K... Availability is 10 million :)
Fun isnt it.. Thats why it is important to know which MM's are retail (selling for individual investors) or which ones are dumping for the company. (dilluting the stock) If you have a dilluter on the ask.. could take millions to get them to move.. vs a retail, could just take a few thousand.
I would say in general.. if you see just retail MM's then having 50k on the bid and 5k on the ask does show good support.
but you never know for sure.. one big sell at the bid could knock out that support.
