I don't understand how Jobs can diss Dell over their design - when you look at an iMac *after* you plug in all the cables you need.

If he really wants to show a little design sense, provide a built in, stylish cover and cable runway for that stuff. I think jacks on the back are somewhat silly amyhow, except for stuff you would rarely plug/unplug (the power cable).

Overall it's probably a nice upgrade, but I don't think the design is anything to crow about.

Just saw your later post - yep, these new iMacs are not really event worthy IMO. That is not really a bad thing, not every Hardware upgrade needs be amazing. This (in some ways) seems like a nice evolutionary upgrade, and maybe that is appropriate for now. iLife may be a nice upgrade, the devil is in the details. dot-mac, yep, a yawner considering Jobs said they are making up for lost time.

OK Rosy-Colored-Glasses time: Apple is being distracted working on wondrous things we can't even imagine. So the iMac, iLife and dot-mac just get a face-lift for now. Hmmm, that didn't sound to convincing, did it?
