One suggest a friend made, if there is a month where everyone will not pay their credit card bills. It may just send a message to them that the game is almost over. It needs to be everyone on earth. They can't jail that many people...they could however... execute a lot of them but that will defeat the purpose of the game.

Just look back in a few centuries where GOLD is the standard of riches. American went off the gold standard and using seemingly U.S. backed dollars but in the background a lot of work has been done. Credit will built into people's blood when they go off the currencies standard in the future(most of us probably won't see this). What's next?
