Wow, ...this Server / Database Manager is overwhelmed and that isn’t good, even for a day. It took me 33 seconds to display the music browser page. (And my connection is 1.3mbps) Young people will not tolerate that. This upgrade was a bit late I'm afraid and some folks will have dropped off because of it.

Nobody waits that long for a page to come up in this age of instant gratification.

ON THE OTHER HAND, this morning I was thinking about how Michael might encourage Registered Users to invite friends to sign up. Think about how fast Hypster can grow now that they have 50k people on the register. If each one of them persuaded 5 of their friends and acquaintances to register, in one week the count would go above 250k. That’s a quarter of a million NEW registered users, plus the original 50k.

Now the question is how to persuade these current users to persuade 5 of their friends.

When the new server is tweaked up and spinning at high speed, it will be time to consider making a campaign like this and watch it grow overnight. There are some amazing things that can happen if you can get 50,000 people to move in one wave.
