CLYV (.50) Clyvia Files Patent Application for the Chemical Stabilization of Processed Diesel and Heating Oil

Wednesday, August 01 2007 11:17 AM, EST Market Wire "US Press Releases "
POINT ROBERTS, WASHINGTON -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/01/07 -- Clyvia Inc. (OTCBB: CLYV) announced today that its wholly owned German subsidiary, Clyvia Technology GmbH ("Clyvia GmbH"), has filed a European patent application for a chemical process used to stabilize unsaturated hydrocarbons in processed diesel and heating oil.
Discussing the significance of this process, Dr. Manfred Sappok, one of the managing directors of Clyvia GmbH, explained, "When cracking long-chain hydrocarbons, unsaturated hydrocarbon molecules are created. When exposed to oxygen, these unsaturated hydrocarbon molecules undergo a chemical reaction. Although this reaction does not affect the properties or purity of the diesel and heating oil, it does turn the oil black, making it difficult to market or sell."
Most oil refineries resolve this problem by artificially saturating the unsaturated hydrocarbons with hydrogen molecules using a process known as hydrogenation. However, hydrogenation facilities require high investment costs, making these facilities economically viable only when used for large-scale operations. In order to solve this problem, Clyvia GmbH has developed a chemical stabilization process that produces similar results in a more economically efficient manner. After the diesel and heating oil has been produced using Clyvia GmbH's proprietary fractional depolymerization process, the output oil is fed into a secondary distillation facility that stabilizes the unsaturated hydrocarbons. The stabilized unsaturated hydrocarbon molecules do not react when exposed to oxygen, thus avoiding the "blackening" of the diesel and heating oil. The stabilized diesel and heating oil continues to meet the requirements of diesel norm DIN EN 590 and heating oil norm DIN 51 603-1.
The "waste to oil" processing system developed by Clyvia GmbH is based upon a patented technology that uses a process known as fractional depolymerization that is similar to the cracking of crude oil. In addition to offering new waste disposal solutions to public and private waste management companies, the Clyvia GmbH believes that its fractional depolymerization process will offer many industrial and business enterprises with a cost-effective and ecologically sound method for processing waste materials
Clyvia Technology GmbH is a subsidiary of Clyvia Inc. , a Nevada, USA corporation. Clyvia's shares are traded on the over-the-counter market in the United States (OTCBB: CLYV) as well as on the stock market in Frankfurt (WKN: A0F59X)(ISIN: US18975K1088).
