I have never shorted a stock in my life. I just look for any information concerning a stock I own. I also get a kick out of being the first one to find something and share it.
Although if you have ever sold a stock and counted on a lower reentry you have really done just that. That I have done. Shorts just do it with stock they don't own, on margin, that does take big ones. There are also shorts that take a short position equal to a long position that they own as a hedge, I believe it's called "shorting against the box"
