i have learned that in a lot of cases, jumps in volume for no aparent reason normally means one of four things:
1. a sector of a market as a whole is in greater demand. probably not likely in this case since ABRG is a small fish in a big pond when it comes to oil and natural gas companies.
2. a specific stock is just being noticed by a huge number of investors who see potential. again, not likely in this case since this stock is on the otc/bb market.
3. just a chance trading day not likely to repeat in the near future.
4. finally, and this is the one i like to see the most, individuals who have the inside track to on a company are either buying up big volume and/or advising associates to do so, knowing a jump in price is coming soon. this one is kind of like speeding when driving; it's a violation, but how many people do you know that don't do it? what's the ratio of people doing it to people getting caught doing it?
look at the last time ABRG jumped...no signals, no sector jumps, no reason at all. in my opnion, volume is the number one indication of when to get in and when to get out of a stock. right now seems to be a good time to get in if you're not already.
