I am now of the opinion that Smith is just incompetent. He let a total crook in Briner screw him after he let McKelvie rape the company through incompetance. Don't foget that he was on the board when McKelvie bought an ice rink from someone who didn't even own it. That was the first disaster.
Now he is trying to recreate last season's league structure. Where are the revenues going to come from to offset the enormous costs he is assuming?
He is not CEO material. He is a salesman and that's about it. I have tried to look into it all and as far as I can find, he has never made a success out of anything.
He is supposedly the n'er do well of his family. You know what I mean? They guy who always has big ideas that amount to no more than big money losing ventures. At least, that is the scuttlebutt being tossed around BC. No one can find any history of success out of this joker.
I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he has now had his chance and has failed. As far as I am concerned, he can leave and take his hockey with him. We will do better with him and it gone. That way no more cash will be burned.
