I think this should appeal to YESes and NOs alike.
How about using the August 17 meeting to replace the BOD?
The present BOD is CB and a couple of yes-men. Put in guys who can actually help the company. The way I see it, AMEP is weak in the legal, corporate, fiscal, and shareholder relation areas. Find guys who can fill in the holes.
Also, one of the functions of a BOD is to intercede for, and protect the shareholders from the officers when necessary. We could sure use this!
I ran an offshore oil support company for 12 years, finally selling out to my competition. I owned my company, so – no BOD. It wasn’t until I was sitting down and dickering with the competition, and talking to their CEO and BOD that I was exposed to how a BOD works, and it dawned on me that these guys were worth their salt. It was an eyeopener.
I think we should give CB and the shareholders a present on AUG 17. It might not be appreciated at first, but believe me nothing will increase the stature and effectiveness of AMEP more than a proper BOD.
Right now I’m just tossing this idea out. If you guys pick it up, we’ll run with it and try to bring it to fruition. There are a lot of problems to solve in a short time, but it can be done.
