I tend to disagree with you..

It is not gambling.. placing it all on black and spinning the wheel...

follow the top 20 rules for investment success..

No 5) Cut every loss when it is 8% below your cost (without exception).. you can always get back in later.. so these posts saying that you are in love.. holding on forever.. down with ship.. well then, duh, it is gambling. and potentially to lose all.

However if we stuck to all rules.. we would be breaking..
1) stocks with 3 yrs earnings up
2) Recent quarter>25% up
3) avoid cheap stocks (under $15)
4) spot sound bases and buy at exact points (not just because you love it)..
...
should I continue..

yes this is for risk appetite of portfolio.. but not to throw away.. and I just keep thinking that when people post B.S. that drives away investors.. yes.. drives away (no matter what you think.. if you see this kind of stuff on a board.. well you know what most would think .. ) Sorry guys/ladies.. just my thoughts..

It just sounds like the guy who says yeah I still love my wife even if she:
... is cheating on me
... with 10 different guys
... dont know who the father of my kids really is
... she beats me up
... wants to start a new profession as a crack whore
... gets out of prison in 30 years..

but I still love her..
