You say he is in trouble. That is your opinion. He bought a domain. I can buy the .au as I have an ABN. Should I? That is a matter of opinion. Will I? Not really as I have well over 3k domains I manage now as it is. I don't feel the need to work on another one or pay for one that is going to sit there.
So where is he really in trouble. He bought a name that was available on the market. A company has already expressed interest in the name as per their PR. If he bought it prior to the PR or after he still has rights to it. The Foundation owns PNMS and owns the pdrexchange. Do they own the trademark to pdrexchange? I have not seen that yet. They own the CopyRight by use as do most people that have published on the net. I am still looking for a TM ownership, as well as, the pdrexchange incorporation in any country at this time.
You say what he did was kindergarten. That again is your opinion. Will he get in to serious problems due to this. That is a matter of opinion and how far the Foundation wants to push this.
I don't see the Foundation doing much with this. That is my opinion. BTW for the record. I own several domains that are TMed names of other companies and have yet to have an issue. In fact I have sold several to other parties for substantial gains. The lists of domains I profit on and have sold range from GM vehicle names, Ford vehicle names, DirecTV, politicians and several smaller companies. The use of the TMed names does not always mean you are going to get sued.
