Lisa, Why do substantial numbers of users need 3.2 ghz P4's or AMD Opteron PC's ? If you can answer that question then you have your answer.

To support Windows XP ?
3D Games ?
Video Editing ?

The average user (non-3D Gamer) could get by with a 600 mhz P3 or a 450 mhz G4 ?

Why do substantial numbers (enough to drive the stock) of Mac users need 3 Gig machines (or even 2 Gig ones)?
