Look at it this way. America was still a very young country at the time of the Civil War and many of the soldiers on both sides will have been fresh of the boat from Ireland ( there're both Irish actors ), Britain and Europe; so there will have been all kinds of accents flying around at that time and not the American accents that you know today! Hopefully that will persuade you to watch what looks like one of those raw, gritty Westerns that portrays what the West was really like.

I am going to rent if from Blockbuster as it is a must see movie for me!
