Resource Delineation Drill Program Underway on Lanfranchi Extension Tramways Tenements, Kambalda, Western Australia
Tue Jul 3, 9:00 AM

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - July 3, 2007) - Brilliant Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE: BMC.V) ("Brilliant") today announced that the underground drill program to delineate additional reserves and resources down-plunge of the Lanfranchi orebody is underway at the Tramways Tenements, Kambalda, Western Australia.

Key Points:

- 40-hole 4,000m reserve/resource delineation drill program to extend Lanfranchi orebody

- Geophysical surveys indicate Lanfranchi Extension open to depth with significant conductors identified to 360 metres below current development

- Production planned to recommence shortly

Exploration Update

The resource/reserve delineation drill program is being conducted from a dedicated hanging-wall drill drive above the Lanfranchi nickel sulphide channel. The drilling will consist of an initial 40-hole 4,000 metre program and encompass an area 80 metres below the lowermost historic production level. The Lanfranchi Extension drilling is part of the aggressive project wide exploration program to increase the resource and reserve inventory at the Lanfranchi Nickel Mine. In addition, the drill program will provide a greater level of detail, adjacent to existing underground workings, to complete stope definition and recommence production down-plunge of the extensive Lanfranchi orebody. (See figures at bottom of release)

The drill stationed to perform the reserve/resource delineation drilling of the Lanfranchi Extension will intermittently throughout the drill plan undertake other more time sensitive priority projects, such as the upcoming stope definition drill program on the Winner Orebody scheduled for production in October 07 (see Company press release dated May 29, 07), then later return to continue the program at the Lanfranchi Extension. Therefore results from this program may be released periodically.

Production Update

Mining is planned to recommence shortly on the Lanfranchi Extension with production projected to contribute an additional 2,000 tonnes of ore grading 2.5% Ni above current mine production levels. The Lanfranchi Extension will be one of three additional sources of nickel ore planned for development or production during the latter half of 2007. The mineralization at Lanfranchi is open down plunge with the down-plunge extensions of Lanfranchi representing a high-priority target for continued exploration and development.

Lanfranchi Orebody Platform EM Drilling

During early 2007, two geophysical holes were drilled in the footwall and sub-parallel to the down-plunge extensions of the Lanfranchi orebody. The Lanfranchi platform EM holes were completed with drill-hole LAN120 intersecting broad zones of mineralization and several intervals of massive sulphide. The better mineralized zones returned intersections of 9.6m of 7.9% Ni and 30.0m of 5.2% Ni (see Company press release dated April 03, 2007)

In addition to the massive sulphide intersections, both Lanfranchi contact parallel EM holes identified significant conductors within 10m of the drill holes and down to 360 metres below the drill station located at the base of the Lanfranchi orebody. These results provided the Lanfranchi Joint Venture with the confidence to proceed with the development of a dedicated hanging-wall drill drive and production decision.

The Lanfranchi orebody, namesake of the Lanfranchi nickel mine, has been mined over a down-plunge length of 1.5 kilometres, with historical production totalling 1.4 million tonnes at 2.32% Ni.

Contact parallel EM holes are exploratory tools utilized in an underground mining environment to detect the down-plunge continuation of known mineralization well beyond the existing production levels. The aim is for the drill trace to remain in the footwall rock unit and maintain a parallel orientation in proximity to the contact horizon that hosts the mineralization to detect the nickel sulphide conductor through geophysics along the maximum extent of the drill hole.

The project is supervised by John Williamson, PGeol, of Edmonton, Alberta, CEO and a Director of Brilliant, and is the qualified person as defined in National Instrument 43-101.
