The RSMI Prez letter of Dec. 2005 carried the following joke.

" It is unlikely that our target customers will issue purchase orders until they have tested the FPGA, so we are also making available an Embarq™ Evaluation Kit. Among other items, this kit contains a circuit board which has the FPGA mounted on it. All of the other hardware and software components on the circuit board are included to allow a target customer to simply plug it in to a PC and watch it perform.

While such a test may only take a few hours to perform, we expect that our target customers will require several weeks to provide feedback to us. They would typically look at our price, business terms, future product roadmap and other considerations. They would also talk extensively with their customers, the telephone companies. It is likely that - as a result of this extensive evaluation - they will want to change some features of Embarq™. These changes could take weeks to incorporate"

Ah, Bradley-babe....did you say "weeks" or "decades"? Why is
it that the Embarq Evaluation Kit joined the never ending stream
of innovations never heard from again? Marin wasn't in charge
of that too, was he? LOL Don't worry, Brad. We can justify
all this in our minds and we still believe!!

cheers
