You can't cover...there are no shares to cover with. If you were short, you have two ways out ( well three really, but...never mind ). 1) Company is forced into receivership. 2) SEC petitions for 12J deregistration. So I can understand that those that have seen the light, might be getting a little nervous about now. No saying the increased activity/agressiveness on the boards these days are connected, but it is circumstantially suspect. I suspect, though, that many of the larger naked shorters, don't even have this on their radar right now. They have done this so often and for so long that they have become complacent. They will be in for the largest shock IMO. Not even the DTC or SEC will be able to help them this time. All IMO.
