Re Gaps

A stock can either gap up or down.

It may close at 12 and open at 14 creating a "gap"

Some people think gaps tend to backfill

To fill a gap in the example above would mean that the stock eventually declined back down to 12. A gap can fill the next day, over a few days , or not at all.
