Ron, Why should Apple enable its competition to expoit what Apple engineered ? Apple has created a profitable market for downloadable music.

Why doesn't Microsoft adopt mp4 AAC with Fairplay DRM?

Apple has the market advantage this time and all the other media players should follow Apples lead ..... just like Real has.

Its a dirty business ..... but setting and controlling standards is what makes for market advantage. All you have to do is look at Microsofts Cash Cow MS Office to see how controlling a standard gives you an advantage.
