1) LinkAir Technology is independent from QCOM's Patents and currently appears superior but will be commercialised no sooner than 2 years down the road, WHILE QCOM has up-to-date Technology available NOW to fill the Gap...
2) LinkAir is an offshoot of the Chinese Military - nothing happens in China, unless condoned by the Military - WHILE QCOM is still working on opening the front door...
3) Dr W. Lee is a good friend of QCOM, as he was instrumental in introducing CDMA in Korea, among other favors and he is highly regarded by the Chinese Establishement, hence the Top appointment at LinkAir...
4) QualcommTel, a Joint Venture between QCOM and the Tiller Group, will be involved with AccessTel in implementing the latest Wireless Solutions in China~~ AccessTel has already received the necessary approvals and Licenses to proceed with the first deployment at Caohejing, Shanghai.
5) Dr W. Lee is a founding partner of AccessTel, in which he owns a substantial number of shares and is expected to become a Director, assuming he is not one already~~ AccessTel should trade on a Major Exchange, such as AMEX by the end of the first Quarter 2001, if everything goes well...
6) LinkAir needs to become public in order to raise capital more efficiently and spread its shareholders base, while creating liquidity for the existing Holders~~ I guess Dr W. Lee has a lot less shares in LinkAir than in AccessTel...
