I agree Apple will release iPods in the XMas buying season. I'm thinking Jobs' reaction to questions at D about iPod updates suggest Jobs had delayed iPod releases longer than he's have liked. I think Jobs prefers people to buy an iPhone and doesn't want to give folks a reason to compromise by buying a new iPod that hasn't got a service contract.
As for the iPhone the sales will be as high as the number of iPhones made imo.
