qbid is not dead. It is dead when you no longer see any qbid shares in your account, there is no new ticker in your account of a stock you did not purchase and scottrade posts on your transaction page "XX/XX/2007 STOCK RECEIVED: 0 SHARES OF $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
XX/XX/2007 QBID# STOCK DELIVERED OUT: XXXXXXXX SHARES OF QBID# $0.00 $0.00 $0.00"

However when you see QBID* on scottrade that means that the merger has happened and they are now awaiting the new shares to replace your QBID shares. Durring this time of waiting you can not sale shares of qbid but you can buy shares of the new ticker with scottrade.
