Okay Why if you daytrade do you need the futures. The futures lead the market the futures move before stocks and markets. The GUYS/GALS in the pits lead the market around by the nose. The $SPX can show you things but it is being pushed by the ES futs in the pits. End of story.. The NQ's and QQQQ while close are lead by the NQ futures. The ES imo is better to watch because they lead all markets. But it doesn't hurt to have the chart of the NQ's up... also You can not see without the futures what is going on during the Globex session or Pre-market or After Market. You can not see key pivot points of the ES futures on a 60 min chart unless you have the ES futures Today we could not get above 1525 on the ES and you could see the downtrend and weakness in the overall market... Without them your missing an important tool..

Question 2

For charts I like the daily to see the over-all trend of the stock and if I'm near any important Moving avgs on the daily.I love the 60 min for setups I keep a 1 min chart up also but like you mostly take entry off the 5 min chart... On my 5 min chart I have a 5ema 10ema 20ema 50 ema and 200ema with a CCI (20) and Volume also RSI (14) but don't rely on it to much...

Today I played NVDA (chart to below) when it took out 43.50 it took off. See those attempts at 43.50 like 3x then pow...

Remember charts are about price and volume then indicators.. but the price action on the chart is most important to me..
