faucet, that one really gets to me, for various reasons..
all of the jeep models are shown in the 60 sec spot.
it grips you, makes you feel like it could be you in that vehicle.. depicts nearly all driving situations...
it puts you in their world... .
he worked 6 months to get it to that stage as you see it..worked his azzz off and about 85,000 spent..
the incredible story about how it was accepted by Daimler is worthy of note ...
i saw the first screen of it when he was finally finished..
it had a very large impact on me, i was certain he had made a winner...
my friend made it without a contract, freelance
was turned down by an idiot exec at the lead Daimler advertising agency..
i got it in front of Kirk Kerkorian thru my contacts at KK's Tracinda Corporation's Las Vegas, Nevada office....
Tracinda sent it to KK (who was in Europe at the time) by special courier. (keep in mind KK is at this time the largest single shareholder in Daimler/Chrysler).
Within 48 hours of KK receiving the copy, my friend got a call from the ad exec's boss apologizing and was offered a huge amount for the work. He accepted.
The original ad exec contacted was dismissed.
Now you and I now get to enjoy one of the most energetic and gripping automobile commercials ever produced, despite an "expert" opinion that it was no good.
To date, it is Daimler's most successful commercial ever in terms of attention span by a viewer.
Genius.
by the way, the dog is a mutt from a rescue pound.
